Class II Type B Microbiological Safety Cabinet Models - Mikrotest Laboratory Equipment and Bench Systems

Class II biological safety cabinets (Types A1, A2, B1, and B2) are partial barrier systems that rely on controlled airflow to provide protection for personnel, the environment, and the product. Personnel and product protection is achieved through a combination of inward airflow captured by the front grille and downward airflow within the cabinet.

Class II Type B2 cabinets operate by drawing room air into the cabinet, passing it through filtration, and supplying filtered air to the work area. Unlike recirculating systems, the air is not recirculated within the cabinet. Instead, all exhaust air passes through an exhaust HEPA filter and is discharged to the outside atmosphere, helping protect the surrounding environment.
